Only in recent versions does it show up in boost. I think only after 0.9.3. Don. On Thu, Aug 28, 2003 at 11:50:52AM -0400, spiggy thecat wrote: > the core version shows up in boost right before core module versions |

Hi, Is there any way to find out the version number of a phpWebSite installation from the site itself? I can see the versions of all the modules in Boost, so it must be 0.9x, but can't seem to find the framework/core version anywhere. cheers, Toby |

As much as I love phpWebsite, I dont love MySQL. I created a database port that *SHOULD* meet SQL-99 standard (thus having PWS working with any other DB) and it works for PWS 0.9.3-1. The SQL file is available at http://www.richard-sumilang.com/phpwebsite.sql Note: I have only tested this sql file with PostgreSQL and MySQL which seem to work fine. If you would like to test this file with any other database and experience any faults, please let me know and I'll try to fix them :-) The deity user name and password for this setup file are... u: test p: test Instructions, simply paste the contents of the SQL file into your db, make your config file point to your db, and walla! Last notes: I am currently working really hard to get PWS's setup thing to work with any DB and just have a few glitches to work out before I should release it. If you are willing to help me out, please send me an email at ri...@ri... - Richard S. |

Richard, Now that we have a starting point, lets see if we can retrieve the information the developers will need to troubleshoot your problem. Note: I'm not a programmer, so my help will be limited to retrieving the necessary diffs. $ cvs -d:pserver:ano...@re...:/home/cvsroot \ co -r phpwebsite_093_1 -d core phpwebsite-core Move the files you modified into the new core directory tree. Then use cvs to diff on tag phpwebsite_093_1. $ cvs diff -u -r phpwebsite_093_1 > ~/phpwebsite-0.9.3-1.diff You should now have a nice unified diff to work with. I hope this helps. -- Mike Noyes <mhnoyes at users.sourceforge.net> http://sourceforge.net/users/mhnoyes/ SF.net Projects: ffl, leaf, phpwebsite, phpwebsite-comm, sitedocs |

Mike, Thanks for replying back quick :-)... I am using PWS 0.9.3-1 downloaded from the home page. I am not using cvs diff or cvs at all (which I probably should be doing). To phpWebsite and Database Gurus, I made some changes to phpWebsite so now the core installs just find on PostgreSQL and MySQL (so far tested) but I must have edited something wrong and now phpWebsite isn't showing any content. Can anybody test my version and see what's wrong with it displaying stuff now? I don't care what database it's tested on, I just need the content to start showing again. My version is located at http://www.richard-sumilang.com/pgWebsite.zip When you first download it and load index.php, it will run the setup and install everything but when you click on "Go to my installation" or just go back to the index it wont display anything. Thanks in advance - Richard S. |

Wendall, These fixes are generic enough that it should work with any other database. I'm not trying to fix OS, Webserver, or PHP depedent things that may be broken. I'm using Mac OS X as my workstation and these SQL fixes work also on my Linux and Windows box because there is no reason why using PostgreSQL, MySQL, db2, etc should have different queries depending on what OS you are using. I don't see the purpose on checking if a column exists by creating an=20 index on it but I found the problem I was having a second ago with it. In Database.php in the core of course, change line number 769 thats=20 reads.... $sql =3D "ALTER TABLE $table_name ADD INDEX (" . implode(", ", $columns)=20= . ")";=00=00 to.... $sql =3D "CREATE INDEX ".$table_name."_index ON $table_name (" .=20 implode(", ", $columns) . ")"; I'll be sending more fixes I find throughout the system :-) - Richard S.= |

One of them is a specialized survey module which Wendall Cada said may be like something he is working on. So I might be able to pair up with him to get the structure built. Greetings, For the unaware, we had started work on 0.9.4. However, after talking with my developers (aka Steven) I have decided to postpone working on it indefinitely. Originally scheduled for this winter, its release will be pushed off until further notice. We have oversold ourselves this semester and are expected to complete two major modules and one minor before spring semester. If all goes well, we will finish these modules early and get to work on the new core. We will continue to support and patch 0.9.3 but the features expected for 0.9.4 will just need to wait. Any work on 0.9.4 will probably be done in my spare time outside of work. Hi, I'm trying to install my first external module, newsletter, on a brand new install of phpWebSite. I expand the newsletter zip to the mod subdirectory. Now there seem to be three possible routes by which I might install this module. 1. http://mydomain.com/mod.php?mod=newsletter&op=setup This is the advice in the INSTALL doc that comes with the module. This just seems to redirect me to the index for the site. Looking at the PHP I have no idea that it should do anything else. 2. Goto to the Administration page -> Modules Setup? Uh there isn't a bit like this. There is boost which only seems to install modules it knows about, and mod maker which seems to require lots of manual information. I've tried it with some guessed defaults - newsletter, index.php and so on. I don't put anything in the class, session vars and so on. When I go to active the new module I get the errors below. Anyone have any ideas of the right way to do this? cheers, Toby Warning: Failed opening 'config.php' for inclusion (include_path='.;c:/phpdev/www/public/phpwebsite/lib\pear\') in c:\phpdev\www\public\phpwebsite\mod\newsletter\index.php on line 20 Warning: Failed opening 'mainfile.php' for inclusion (include_path='.;c:/phpdev/www/public/phpwebsite/lib\pear\') in c:\phpdev\www\public\phpwebsite\mod\newsletter\index.php on line 21 Warning: Failed opening 'open_session.php' for inclusion (include_path='.;c:/phpdev/www/public/phpwebsite/lib\pear\') in c:\phpdev\www\public\phpwebsite\mod\newsletter\index.php on line 22 Warning: Failed opening 'header.php' for inclusion (include_path='.;c:/phpdev/www/public/phpwebsite/lib\pear\') in c:\phpdev\www\public\phpwebsite\mod\newsletter\index.php on line 23 Fatal error: Call to undefined function: thememainbox() in c:\phpdev\www\public\phpwebsite\mod\cb_common\class.CB_Block_Admin.php on line 271 |

Great, I look forward to it. What about the auto incrementing? Are you going to remove all the auto increment commands after the id column type in the setup SQL files? - Richard S.
