Hello, To my surprice, I see that there are still 91 subscribers to the phpweather-devel list, despite the project being unmaintained at the moment. If any of you want to revive the project, then let Max (iridium) know. The list gets a fair amount of spam, and since I am still the list admin, I get a copy of each attempted post of spam. I don't think I have seen a legitimate post on the list for years, so I have now changed the settings so that posts by non-members are rejected without bothering me. The poster gets a mail back explaining them to subscribe before posting. The best thing would be to find another mailing list admin, since I don't use or develop PHP Weather any more. Let me know if you are interested. =2D-=20 Martin Geisler Do your secure multi-party computations (SMPC) with VIFF, the Virtual Ideal Functionality Framework. Download at http://viff.dk/ |

Hi All, I've been working through old bugs on phpweather, and I've removed most of the developers (basically, anyone who I couldn't remember). Please don't be offended if you got taken off, if you still want to contribute to the project then just send me a note and I'll stick you back on. I'm actively looking for a new admin for phpweather, since I really don't have time to do it. If any of you are interested, again - let me know. Cheers, Max -- Max Hammond |

Hey Johannes, Sounds like you might not have the directories set up right. Really, I'm not sure what the problem may be. I'm sure the station has the correct time. My guess is, it's in a different time zone than mine, but that doesn't make sense. And yes, it is updated every hour with the correct weather. I'm still very confused about this. > Hi Frank, > > wow, you got that page running. Hi Frank, wow, you got that page running. I still have a problem with it, that I am not able to get the data in nice human readable format and I have no icons, even not with the test page. Would you help me with it ? I am not that familiar with php to get it going. I ran php 4.3.11. Regards the moon, at my time of riding here it's 11.37pm CST and it shows the correct icon. Looks like a full moon and the text shows clear sky. Regards the time, it showed here too,... was made 7 hours and ... Was the time correct on the NOAA site ? Should that station not be updated every hour may be ? Would you have another station which you know the time and could do a test with ? I get here the correct time and I noticed that some station sometimes doesn't have data at a certain point and hours later it's there, just fine. Johannes > Looked into the machine's settings, it's fine. > I managed to fix the time, but for some reason, it says 6, > sometimes 7 > hours ago. > > http://www.tdswebnet.com/sanjuan/weather/index.php?icao=KBRO&language=en > > Ok, I won't need the time, however, if you see the images > right now. > Now = 3:40pm central time > > It has a moon. Looked into the machine's settings, it's fine. I managed to fix the time, but for some reason, it says 6, sometimes 7 hours ago. http://www.tdswebnet.com/sanjuan/weather/index.php?icao=KBRO&language=en Ok, I won't need the time, however, if you see the images right now. Now = 3:40pm central time It has a moon. The weather it displays is correct, except the moon. My visitors will get confused because it's still day time. I believe it has to do with the time issue. If you look in the NOAA website http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/KBRO.html Under the report time you'll see the military time: at the time I'm writing this it says 2053 UTC. (2:53 central time) I have to have these settings correct. By far, this has been the best software I've run into. If need to, and if the price is good, I'd pay for a fix. Thank you. ~Frank |

Hi Beau, in regards to php weather2.2.2, I only get the index.php working as supplied; no icons or any data displayed at all. I posted the php file with which I got the data of the station look up displayed in raw with the correct icons, but I fail to get the nice human readable out put. I am sruggeling with the correct coding of the last 2 lines. It is the thread print pretty how to http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=9799957&forum_id=2219 This would show of course all the data. Because of this, I started looking at the version 1.62 whic has a better explanation and it's easier to understand for someone with no coding knowledge, like me. Hi there !!! I would like to have the weather report in a table showing the = following: time, wind speed, wind direction, = temperature,dew-point,atmospheric pressure, humidity, clouds, visibility. I was able to get PHP weather 2.2.2 up and running without a problem. = One issue I am having is that my current output is extremely verbose (I need = it to appear succinctly in the upper right hand header of my website). I am = not that good with PHP and am struggling with the coding and documentation. = I was hoping that someone might be able to provide a function that simply displays the sky icon, the temperature text, the wind direction and wind speed text along with the =91feels like=92 text. Any help is greatly appreciated. =20 Thank you in advance. =20 Beau |

Hello all, I am having problems to get the raw metar data nicly human readable displayed. I get the correct data and images with the following code: <?php require("phpweather.php"); require("output/pw_images.php"); $weather = new phpweather(); print_r($weather->decode_metar()); $icons = new pw_images($weather); echo '<p><img src="'.$icons->get_sky_image().'" /> '; echo '<img src="'.$icons->get_winddir_image().'" /> '; echo '<img src="'.$icons->get_temp_image().'" /></p>'; $output_text = new pw_text_en($weather); $output_text->print_pretty(); ?> The last 2 lines are not correct coded. (I don't have any programming knowledge) Can someone give me a hint to get this correct ? What am I overlooking? Thank's in advance. Johannes |

Hi all, I have installed phpweather running with php 4.3.11 using MySql database after running make_config & make_db and copying the defaults.php into the main directory. When calling the index.php the test page shows up but without the initial weather station. This is happening as well with the install "out of the box". What do I have to look for to get this fixed, as I am assuming that a initial station should come up. I would like to see this as it is on the main website of phpweather. It is set with $this->properties['icao'] = 'EKYT'; in the defaults.dist.php or a different station in the created defaults.php Any hint/help would be greatly appreciate. As I am not really familiar with php programming, a plain explenation will be best. Thank you. Johannes |

The documentation for changing the output of phpweather-2.2.2 is: "3.1.1 Changing the Output You can change the output of PHP Weather." and no more. Do more detailed instructions exist? It seems like a = powerful program but I would like to customize its output a bit for use on the website I maintain for an airport group. Thanks, Ralph Finch Davis, California, USA www.foua.org |

Eh yes, it is assumed that you already have an existing website that you want to fit PHP Weather into. You could of course just point people to the index.php page in PHP Weather, but that's not that much fun... > If so, then I'm afraid this is not for me. > I am not a programmer, I do not know anything from PHP. > > I make my pages with Freeway, that says enough, I think. > > I foud a solution, though! > > Please have a look at http://www.atelier.box.nl/Hedane/hedane.php > Please click on: "het weer in Zweden" on the left side and you'll > see. Yes, this file only declares the phpweather class. Try including the file in some other file and call decode_metar(). A complete test example: <?php header('Content-Type: text/plain'); // Plain text for a simple test. require('phpweather.php'); $weather =3D new phpweather(); print_r($weather->decode_metar()); ?> Put the above in a file and upload it to your server in the phpweather folder. That shows you all the data (in a somewhat raw form) obtained from the METAR report. To get a nicely formatted weather report you have to combine the $weather object with a output object, like this: <?php $output_text =3D new pw_text_nl($weather); $output_text->print_pretty(); ?> > I have spend quite some hours in the discussiongroups, but these > files are huge, and I cannot find the answer, therefore I write to > you. And I'm answering back to the list too, so that others might find the answer some other time. hello Max, I already know the defaults.php is 'in circuit' because my changed setting for error reporting has been recognised. You know, that's one of the functions in php weather's config builder. I raised this setting and reuploaded defaults.php with the aim of trying to investigate what may be going on. I was surprised to see _this_ setting has been honoured (and causing expected log/errors/warnings to be displayed) but not the other user preferences in defaults.php Just to pull out 2 examples of what isn't working; My chosen default station and language are not used. I can only assume there is something about the php programming which doesn't quite work on my hosting setup: Operating system FreeBSD Service Status Click to View <https://incelsite.com:2083/frontend/bluelagoon/status.html> Kernel version 4.10-RELEASE-p4 Apache version 1.3.33 (Unix) PERL version 5.6.1 Path to PERL /usr/bin/perl Path to sendmail /usr/sbin/sendmail Installed Perl Modules Click to View <https://incelsite.com:2083/frontend/bluelagoon/perlmodules.html> PHP version 4.3.9 lee Max Hammond wrote: > The first thing you need to do is determine whether your defaults.php > is being loaded.
