Yay, I'm once again on the mailing list .... took me a while to figure 
out I had it going to the wrong email address. ;)  Ah, well.

Anyway, welcome Firman!  Good to see someone new.

I've been meaning to hack on the project for a LONG time now, just never 
get around to it ... always something else to work on, that's for sure. 
      I started working on a tiny php frontend for mssql at work, and 
man it's really not as hard as I thought getting some of the basics 
together.  Mostly just a matter of knowing where the internal data is 
stored and how to pull it out.

I had a TODO once for the project of stuff I thought would be good ideas 
to add ... the main one was to convert to using PEAR::DB, which I'm not 
so sure is a good idea anymore, but who knows.

That's all.  I'll try to get some work done within the next week or so. :)

IMHO too, but I has class that adopted on SPSQLite and
PEAR::DB::SQLite to fit our needed, maybe it usefull for phpsla. BTW I
love to use PEAR::DB.

Felipe helps out if time is available, he also follows the list.

For the start I was thinking about DB only, but there could be other 
uses as well.

Question... would we ship a copy of PEAR in code code (for the case that 
any users/hosters don't have PEAR installed? IMHO it would be 
preferable to include it for convenience reasons.

Ah great, BTW where are there another developers? I see that phpsla

The logo is great, and I propose that you are added to sourceforge as 
developer, so you could commit your changes to cvs. (However please 
before committing large or big changes, please post to this list for 
discussion...)

Best would (as you mentioned) of course be if css is used as much as 
possible for layout and design.

php4-sqlite module is "not-installable" right now in my debian, that 
means I have trouble checking anything. I try to fix it.

first page could show a list of all registered databases

Hi! (and sorry again for taking so much time to answer)

some if our code is OO, some is less... We use the SPSQLite class from 
Alan, but it is not maintained anymore since some time. Maybe we should 
use something else, maybe PEAR. What do you think about that?

USER INTERFACE
I has modified phpsla UI also draw phpsla's logo, you can see at

However I do, quick design, so css and another codes are not organized
well, if all of you accept with a design or given me permission to
change design I will tried to redesign with well organized, btw I'm
graphics designer and web designer too :-). But the logo it's look
nice, what do you say guys?

- there's error with session when error_reporting all is on.

- We need to change first page, it's should be not to phpsla.sqlite
database, but to main page (not created yet).
- there's phpsla.sqlite accessible by all user? need to group user
like mysql db?

OK, i has checkout the cvs codes. There's some items is done, i a
questions why, phpsla isn't OO just use SPSQLite? there more
comportable if we use OO concept.

BTW, this just an idea, I has not problem if wanna writting in
procedural code anyway, no such patches until now, no have much time.

There is todo.txt in cvs. cvs contains some improvements over the last 
release. You can see the cvs code here:

Since a long time I plan to work again on phpsla but time/motivation is 
lacking... and other projects also take some time, well...

could you please try out the cvs version as it already contains a change=20
that should do what you have been thinking of...?

Concerned part of table_browse.php (lines 43-49):

As far as smarty is concerned, I dont think we need it...Its way too complex 
IMO. 

The EOT thing, I think Yves knows I dont like it. It just doenst look like 
php code :(

I just added the file i18n_langs.php to show how multilanguage support can be done.

Only remaining problem is that I could not figure out how to get the output of
the i18n() shown from inside a heredoc block (echo <<<EOT EOT;)
Maybe someone on the list can give a hint...

EOT is a so called "closing label" to tell php until where it should 
echo. You can read here about it:

Using the template engine 'smarty'.

If you want the source, you can download it @ http://smarty.php.net

I've seen this in some other projects e.g. sunlog (http://sunlog.org)

It has a good performance.

What does the list think about?
