The project is now discontinued.
See http://phpres.sf.net for more details.
Today, I've created the repository for the source files. No release yet, as there are many possible ways to corrupt the database if not careful (e.g. removing a hall will result in corrupt entries for blocks and thus seats). It is viewable for those of you who are interested in it.
Now that the main task is finished, and I'm working on the code a bit, to make it somewhat more homogenous, some new screenshots are available of the new system!
Check them out!
A great start for February 2007! The main core is finished! This does not mean that a release is iminent, in contrary, instead this means we go to alpha stage.
Some implementation issues still have to be addressed, but the system works, if used correctly. Hacker avoidance, error reporting/logging, processes for deletion and other things still have to be done. Together with the tens of TODOs I've written all around the code, this gives for much more work.
The code will not yet be published, as I'm not convinced it could be of any use to anyone, there is no install script, there is nothing that the down-to-earth system admin could use.
But in a few weeks/months this should be different.... read more
It's been a very long time since I've updated, but I have some news. One of the most dificult parts to implement, namely mapping the seats to categories, has been implemented. For the moment you can only add seats per block to a category and not per seat, but this might change in the future (i'm not seeing close future...)
Also, I've also made some screenshots to let you enjoy some real footage. I've used no tricks in the screenshots, it's the real thing. The default (minimal) theme will be updated later with some skins, if I have time/inspiration for it.... read more
If you're reading this, this means that you know about the SourceForge page for phpReservation!
As I needed some space to promote phpReservation in the future, I tought I'd register with SourceForge. Got my account real quickly and now we're up and running.
There is of course little change to the project itself, it's still far from finished, and needs lots of work. Getting to alpha stage is number one, but the complexity of the seat mappings is increasing with time (which is not surprising). A few more months should do the trick (knowing that the exams are about to start), phpres will be my leisure spare time ;-)... read more
