No, we have no hebrew translation. There was a guy a few months back who said he wanted to do it, but we never heard from him again. If you want to do the translation, please do! Just read the TRANSLATORS file. And set the language to be 'rtl' (right to left) in the language file. Hi Everyone, Just reminding you all that the next release is due this Monday. So if you haven't got your translation in yet, you've got the weekend :) Otherwise, your updates it might not make it into the 3.4 release. Chris |

Hi everyone, The time has arrived for preparing for the next major release of phpPgAdmin. New Features: * Add CACHE and CYCLE parameters in sequence creation * View, add, edit and delete comments on tables, views, schemas, aggregates, conversions, operators, functions, types, opclasses, sequences and columns (Dan Boren & ChrisKL) * Add config file option for turning off the display of comments * Allow creating array columns in tables * Allow adding array columns to tables * Allow creating domains with type length and arrays * Show domain base type and comment in domains list * Allow import of CSV, Tabbed and XML data. "Auto" mode chooses import mode based on the file extension. * Allow upload and execution of _basic_ SQL scripts * More admin features available: vacuum, analyze, cluster all and reindex (with all options) (Bryan Encina) * Fix SQL popup window to reload when the database is changed so that the correct page encoding is used. * Create view wizard (Bryan Encina) * Allow specification of MATCH, DEFERRABLE and INITIALLY DEFERRED on foreign keys. * Automatically uncheck the NULL checkbox when data is typed in the value field while editing data. * Show query runtime when executing arbitrary SQL * Allow renaming functions when backend supports it * Views are now more like tables. They are listed in the browser, you can view the virtual columns of the view and its column defaults. Columns in view can also be renamed and have defaults set. * Allow viewing, dropping and creation of rules on views. * Support for 7.5-dev ALTER COLUMN TYPE, adding of SERIAL and BIGSERIAL columns, adding NOT NULL columns and adding columns with defaults. Translators ----------- We will no longer be changing the strings table for the 3.4 release, so now is the time to get your updated translations in. You will be pleased to know that we have added very few new strings :) Release date will be Monday 31st May. If you miss the release date, we might do a point release with any additional translations. You should be able to the 'synch' script in the lang/ directory to merge just the new strings into your language file from the English file. It is a massive time saver. Also, before sending in your translation, make sure you use the 'langcheck' utility. eg. php langcheck french Which will report to you any missing strings or strings you need to remove. Developers ---------- It's time to test and find bugs. Please report any bugs or errors you find, and take an hour to really exercise some of the features. Snapshot Releases ----------------- Snapshot releases are available from the phpPgAdmin website. They are updated every night. This is the easy way of updating your translation or testing the release, without having to checkout the CVS version. URL: http://phppgadmin.sourceforge.net/ Regards, Chris, Robert & Dan |

Hi again, I forgot to mention that Rafal has updated his magic 'synch' script in the lang/ directory. You should be able to use it to merge just the new strings into your language file from the English file. It is a massive time saver. Be aware that it still needs a little testing. Also, before sending me your translation, make sure you use the 'langcheck' utility. eg. php langcheck french Which will report to you any missing strings or strings you need to remove. Developers: It's time to test and find bugs. Please report any bugs or errors you find, and take an hour on Sunday to really exercise some of the features. I especially want testers on pres 7.3 versions of PostgreSQL. Regards, Chris |

Hi everyone, It's been almost 3 months since our last phpPgAdmin release, and it's time for more! We will no longer be changing the strings table for the 3.3 release, so now is the time to get your updated translations in. I will email all individual translators shortly to remind them all explicitly. Features * Database dump feature, which uses pg_dump * Large speed improvements by reducing number of database connections and using external style sheet. * SQL pop-up window now defaults to the current database * Display aggregates and operator classes * Integration with the PostgreSQL statistics collector. See table and index performance and usage information. * Display user session defaults for PostgreSQL >= 7.3 * Rename user feature for PostgreSQL >= 7.4 * Create functions returning arrays and table types * Allow editing Select results by oid * Allow pagination of queries entered in the SQL box * Allow EXPLAIN ANALYZE of SQL queries (in both SQL boxes) * Default cursor conveniently in SQL box and Find Bugs * Object browser fixed for databases with no schemas * Properly detect that reports database is missing * Fix for alter column on PostgreSQL 7.1 * phpPgAdmin now works without '.' in the include_path Release date will be Feb 25th, since I am going away for a week after that. If you miss the release date, we'll do a 3.3.1 point release with any additional translations. Regards, Chris |

Hi Everyone, This is an announcement that we are now in a string freeze for the 3.2 release of phpPgAdmin. Since PostgreSQL 7.4 has just been released, we feel that it is important to ride the publicity wave and also give people the best version of phpPgAdmin for PostgreSQL 7.4. Hence, we have set a target for final translation updates for the 3.2 release of Friday 28th Nov. I know this is close, so if you don't make it in by then, we will do a 3.2.1 release with further translation updates. So, please checkout the CVS version of the 'webdb' module, and update your translation. It is worth checking the new lang/ Makefile as it has had significant improvements to make your life easier. phpPgAdmin 3.2 will be a great release with these major new features: * PostgreSQL 7.5 CVS support * Option to dump table structure, data or structure and data * Results of table browse, table select, view browsing and report browsing can now ALL be sorted by column * Result rows of table selects can now be edited and deleted * Extra login security to prevent logging into servers as postgres and no password - a VERY common newbie error. * Cluster indexes and indexed constraints (with analyze) * Table info - shows tables that reference the table, parent tables, and child tables. * Choice of operator when performing a Select * Show casts * Show conversions * Show languages * Make table icon link to browse table * The SQL box now remembers your query when you click 'Back'. Please let me know if you're no longer interested in maintaining your translation. Regards, Chris |

Hi everyone, The new beta of 3.1 is out: https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=37132 We need the translators to update their translations before we put out a rc release. Could everyone else please download the beta and test it as much as possible. Areas to concentrate testing on: - PostgreSQL 7.0 and 7.1 support of all new features - Find feature - SQL editor pop-up window - Download results feature (new XML and XHTML formats, etc) - Operator listing Thanks, Chris |

I was checking some stuff and found a string that is missing in the=20
translations. I you reset a sequence if will show a message like this when=
=20
using spanish:
Secuencia has been reset
Now, secuencia wes most likelly taken from the spanish translation string=20
$lang["strsequence"] but the rest is in english.
Well, and by the way, I can't get what "Log count" means in the sequence.
=2D-=20
Porqu=E9 usar una base de datos relacional cualquiera,
