Hello, i use phpMyAdmin from package phpMyAdmin-2.11.9.5-all-languages.tar.bz2, PHP version 5.2.0-8+etch15, Apache 2.0 on Linux. I tried to use MySQL version 4.x or 5.x, the behavior is there the same. To the contrary, on PHP 4.x it seems to be ok. The error appers so : i successfully logged into the phpMyAdmin as root, i browse some databases and tables, so i want to search some data from one collumn. I write into the input field some data im looking for. When i submit this, phpMyAdmin will logout me and insted of username root are there in username input pre-filled some trash like "{>A9" and so on.

Please try the latest version and check that you have a $cfg['blowfish_secret'] in your config.

As I wrote in the past, i am using the newest version of phpMyAdmin 2.11.9.5 witch is able to use with MySQL version 4.x that i need. Secret_blowfish directive is set i my config. Many thanks for your next help.

Development/bug fix is not a priority for phpMyAdmin 2.11.9.x (we do only security fixes). MySQL 4.x is very old too!
