Currently strings in the output of EXPLAIN SELECT can be truncated in the displayed HTML table. This is wrong. Output of EXPLAIN is not some BLOB gibberish or blog post content that deserves to be truncated for brevity when displaying the contents of a table. Every last letter of EXPLAIN output is precious and informative. Please don't truncate it.
