Server: CentOS, Mysql 5.5.
Bug observed after recent upgrade to phpMyAdmin: 4.1.2.

With a table that has a column with a '-' in the name: such as field-name.

Browse Table.

Click the column header to sort (either asc or desc) the table by this field with the '-' in the name.

Now browse some other table, or click somewhere else.

Then try to Browse this same table again: this error appears. And you are unable to access the table again.

1054 - Unknown column 'field-name' in 'order clause'
