The 3 OHLC (financial) plot types do not allow for skipping data points in the plot, as most/all other plot types do. There are good reasons to be able to skip points, e.g. market closed, security did not trade that day.
This has been fixed in CVS and will be in the next release. If any of the 4 values is non-numeric, nothing will be drawn for that point, with no error reported.
