[Phphelpdesk-help] Fatal Error after installation when connecting to Helpdesk

I received the following fatal error after installing and configuring
phphelpdesk.  I can connect manually to the phphelpdesk database.  Apache is
working for other programs.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in
/var/www/html/helpdesk/includes/connect.inc.php on line 10

I have the following configuration:
RH	7.1
PHP	4.0.4pl1-9
Apache	1.3.19-5
Mysql	3.23.36-1

What version of PHPHelpdesk are you using?
It sounds like the problem is with PHP.  The mysql_connect() function is a 
PHP function.
However, it could be your config file has the wrong hostname and database name.
(The mysql_connect() function uses these parameters to execute).

Definately a PHP problem, sounds like the MySQL database component
of PHP is not there, which is strange.   If the problem was a connection
problem,
it would have given a different error message.

I'm using Red Hat 7.0 and everything was included.   Did you use the rpm from
the Red Hat 7.1 cd to install PHP?

[Phphelpdesk-help] Requirements Question

I am finally getting around to putting this thing together.
The demo looks awesome. I have a question...


The INSTALL file states:
	<snip>
	        PHP 4.0 or greater with MySQL support enabled
	<snip>

How can I verify MySQL support is enabled before moving forward 
with an initial install?
