[Phphelpdesk-help] mysql_connect()

I've seen other posts here on this subject, but no real answers to the =
problem.

When I go to the helpdesk page on my website, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /var/www/html/h=
elpdesk/includes/connect.inc.php on line 10
=20
and the page "header" right underneath it (with the desk and the title and =
version stuff).

It's been driving me crazy trying to get this thing to work...I've been =
through all the config files and everything seems to be configured =
correctly, I can manually log into the database...

Is there some module between php and mysql or something?

Well, yes.  What OS are you using?  For me, it was as simple as typing 
apt-get install php-mysql and then restarting the running 
applications.  Otherwise, you'd have to ensure you compiled php with mysql 
support - a --with-mysql would be needed.
