Tony, I am not officially involved in the development of phpHelpDesk, but one of the things that I have really wanted in the project is some more beefed up reports. I would be very interested in taking a look at your report engine. Thanks ******************************************************************* John Finlay Computing Specialist Harold B. Subject: [PhpHelpdesk-devel] Reporting engine Hi there, We've been using phphelpdesk for almost a year now and it's working out great. I've made very few and minor changes specific to our environment, mainly because I don't want to deviate from the main project in case a new release comes out.=20 One of the areas I think is lacking is that of reports. So, my employer commissioned an open source software developer to create a reporting engine. From the beginning, I've made it clear to my employer and the developer that we might just want to release this to the phphelpdesk project as open source. My employer said go for it, and the developer was already on board with the idea. The reporting engine consists of two files: a config file and the actual reports.php. It's been written to use at least the security cookie from phphelpdesk and has a lot of the look and feel. I intentionally haven't had it integrated into phphelpdesk to make it accessible from the menus, waiting rather to see if the folks on this project are even interested. Some of the verbage is specific to our environment, but it's all open so that could be made generic within the scope of the project overall. I'm not sure who the project leader is, though I tried email who I percieved to be the leader at the sourceforge address. Maybe that message never got through, so I figured I would send this to the list. Apologies in advance if I didn't follow protocol for submitting something like this. :) If it turns out that this is not valuable to the phphelpdesk project, that's OK. I just wanted to toss it out there for consideration. It may be that this can be it's own project.=20 I can make the code available for download if there is interest.
