It would be usefull to have what is called a
whiteboard or system notice board to announce any
system wide problem or outage,
This would be seen by all who are about to enter a
problem ticket,
This way I will not get tens of tickets regarding 'my
email dosn't work' when the mail server is down.
I envisage that the whiteboard would be displayed on
the login page, and both the content, and if it is
displayed at all is controled by the system manager.
(Some systems I read about have at least two
whiteboards, One for users and another for field
technicians - that show problems that are not system
wide or are technical in nature)
