I've been taking a look at HelpDesk and it looks great.

Here are a couple of missing's for me.

1) Departments should be listed in a drop down.
This way I can set up one user name where
the pages can login and when the mail is sent
it will come from one email address.. rather than
the different user accounts that login.

2) Ability to attach a technician to a particular
category.

I've got different technicians who handle different
support aspects.. it would be fabulous to have the
system assign the task to the particular tech when
the user chooses which category they are having
troubles with.

3) concurrent with the above.. I would like to have
the system have the option of emailling the technician
with the details of the ticket. This way the tech's
don't have to continually go into the database and
query what's pending.. they have emails to go by.
When the job is complete.. they can then enter and
close the ticket. Makes for a cleaner support process.
