Import wishlist from Amazon, etc.
Web-enabled wishlist with reservations.

Hello!
It'd be really cool to be able to kickstart my gift
registry by downloading my Amazon wishlist and
importing all those items (with good URIs, etc). I'm
sure there are other wishlists that'd be great to grab,
so as general as it can be would be nice.
Cheers!

Amazon has a wishlist web service but requires you to create
an account with them which requires supplying personal
information. I'm not about to do that, so someone else will
have to implement this.

Yeah, I saw that when I looked at this before the holidays;
I don't think their web service is the way to go for this as
it's too heavy, anyway.
I also looked at their terms of service to be sure that a
user choosing to scrape their own wishlist wouldn't violate
the ToS (it doesn't). I'm thinking of writing something
which, given a URL to your wishlist, walks the pages and
collects the basic info (and sets the URL back to Amazon,
since it'll be handy).
Seem reasonable?

This one sounds especially insteressting for me. So I could imagine to work on this.
+1 for this feature
Even a very simple integration with e.g. amazon would be nice. Different levels of integration could be implemented. The simplest one is that users can provide a link to their amazon wishlist in their user details. This link could then be shown below their wishlist. A better integration could list the actual products, possible with correct amazon partnernet URIs.
