A few things have happened:
(1) I moved my website from Bluehost to Digital Ocean (including MySQL db).
(2) I transitioned from Apache to Nginx 1.4.6-1ubuntu3.1 / PHP5-FPM 5.5.17+dfsg+2+deb.sury.org~trusty+1
(3) I downloaded and upgraded to PHPGEDView 4.2.4 (from an earlier 4.2 version...i've successfully upgraded phpgedview before).
I have two Joomla (1.5 & 2.5) sites running perfectly, and am willing to setup a separate nginx file for phpgedview...i just need some direction.
This is the current error I'm getting in Google Chrome:
"This webpage has a redirect loop"
i know there are issues with nginx and the .htaccess files in phpgedview subdirs...but don't know how to fix it...please help.
THANK YOU!

All supposed, based on the first post, but still didn't answer the PHP question, which is likely 5.3 or higher. You can not use any PGV version below v4.3 with PHP 5.3 or higher and it is likely to have a ton of deprecated functions with PHP 5.6 and higher, hence our warning that you should consider migrating to webtrees.
So, at the least install v4.3 and see if the problems go away.

OK...i copied the /trunk/phpgedvew dir over and ugpraded according to
instructions...still getting the redirect error.
Contact me off list Calvin ... the aol email is bouncing as well :(
nginx uses a different re-write mechanism, so the .htaccess is probably
competing. Don't want to discuss access stuff on-line ;)

Thank you... Will try that...please provide download link; didn't see that on site. OR please provide webtrees migration how to link.
