The initial (default) brand new gedcom has

0 HEAD
1 SOUR PhpGedView
2 VERS 4.0 stable
1 DEST ANSTFILE
1 GEDC
2 VERS 5.5
2 FORM Lineage-Linked
1 CHAR UTF-8
1 DATE 15 Jun 2006
0 @I1@ INDI
1 NAME Given Names /Surname/
1 SEX M
1 BIRT
2 DATE 01 JAN 1850
2 PLAC Click edit and change me
0 TRLR

So I click the main "edit" link and change the forenames to "John
Edward", the surname to "Doe", the d.o.b to "15 AUG 1895", the place
of birth to "Someplace, Cornwall, England", add a d.o.d."AUG 1966"
and Place of death as "Somewhere, London, England" ...

Click Save and close the editing window.

The main page refreshes with the new data in "unapproved" format. So
far so good.

Accept the changes

Now the GEDCOM looks like

0 HEAD
1 SOUR PhpGedView
2 VERS 4.0 stable
1 DEST ANSTFILE
1 GEDC
2 VERS 5.5
2 FORM Lineage-Linked
1 CHAR UTF-8

I'm presuming this is an old bug? I've tried these steps, and it worked OK.

June 2006 qualifies as "old" ... it was PGV 4.0 release.
If you followed the steps and it was fine, then mark it as fixed.
    Thanks
    Mark
