that's helpful ... i'll start some digging.
the soap option seemed, at first glance, straightforward ... but the "get it into .htaccess" has
me stymied (for the moment). i have yet to find any interested/helpful apache types, either :-{
having that capability would go a long way to the single-sign-on-via-phpgacl holy-grail.
