It works fine on PHP 5.6 but when I installed it on PHP 7.2 there was no directory tree and Config wouldn't accept password etc. My PHP install may have some vital files or extensions missing. Can you please tell me what's essential to get it to work?
Version 7.1.8 runs fine but compress/decompress doesn't work.

Are there any issues with running the script using SSL? I have SSL configured on Apache/Centos8. I can access an index.html file in /var/www/html but the index.php file which is the in the same directly yields an error 500.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you mean. I simply instald a UBUNTU 18 LAMP pack using ISPConfig which doesn't have a file manager. As mentioned, there was no directory tree and I couldn't use the Config features such as Password.
I've moved on and installed Virtualmin which has it's own LAMP setup for Ubuntu and does have a Filemanager. I also installed PHPFileManager which is a two second job, to see how it responded there. Walla! It worked fine and that indicates to me that my original PHP setup was missing some file or extension.
Obviously not all PHP installs are the same and PHPFileManager may need special extensions installed for it to work.
Thanks for responding.
