I installed phpesp on a Windows system but couldn't get it working. Using var_dump(), I found that there are problems with various path constants mixing back-slashes (\) and forward slashes (/). I then installed on a Linux box. Got things "sort of working" despite the lack of any real documentation. I entered the URL, which got redirected to a maint logon form, at which point I could go no further. I tried the name and password used for the database grant, but that didn't work. There was nothing in the docs that said what to use for the initial logon. So 1) What am I supposed to use for the initial logon? 2) Is phpesp still being actively developed? 3) Is there any other open source survey software? Thanks much! zach -- zw...@sb... |

Hi, the populate db error disappeared when I tailored the populating script and replaced every 'CURRENT_TIMESTAMP' with CURRENT_TIMESTAMP. I guess this is a mysql version problem. (using xammp with php 5.1.1 and mysql 5.0.18-nt, and phpESP 1.8) Also, the cannot login failure occured. (with forms, root/esp). I only have a workaroud for this. So I edited manage.php and commented out the "if (!manage_auth($username, $password, $raw_password))" part. Then I got the Admin Interface and added a superuser. I took back the changes and could login to the interface normally with the new user. That is very dirty because i have to do it with every new installation. I hope someone can explain me or better fix it. Maybe it has something to do with the use of mysql PASSWORD() function that is not intended for user tables and that is one way. As myswl documentation says, SH1() should be used for these cases. Best regards, Steffen |

My survey is up and working: http://www.theparentingcoach.org/survey/public/survey.php?name=discipline_copy . However, after submitting the survey, the results page is only showing a light grey header current results but the results are not displayed. I can see the results here: http://www.theparentingcoach.org/survey/public/results.php?name=discipline_copy if I link to it directly, but how do I get the results to automatically show up after the submit button? Hi All, Just a couple of general questions. 1) I came across this exploit originally identified by Secunia, the site I found it on said upgrade to 1.8 RC1 which I don't think exists at this time= . Has this exploit been fixed? How can I check my implementation to see if I need the fix? Secunia, Advisory: SA17333, October 28, 2005 2) Is there a list of the tags allowed when creating surveys. You need to get into phpesp database using mysql or phpmyadmin if installed and run 1 of the following queries if you are adding a name you can run the following query: INSERT INTO designer (username, password, fname, lname, realm, pdesign, pstatus, pdata, pall, pgroup, puser, disabled, expiration) VALUES ('NameHere', PASSWORD('esp'), 'ESP', 'Superuser', 'superuser', 'Y', 'Y', 'Y', 'Y', 'Y', 'Y', 'N', timestamp('2008-01-01 00:00:00')); to change the expiration on an existing record run the following query: update designer set expiration =3D timestamp('2020-01-01 00:00:00') where username =3D 'NameHere'; make sure to commit the changes commit; command to see all the records and values in the designer table: select * from designer; On 2/2/06, Gael Jobard <jo...@cy...> wrote: > I have a similar problem it seems, could you please tell me how to change > the expiration date ? > Thanks ! > > > harry amarantidis a =E9crit : > > Thanks Tim, > > That's exactly what was going on. Once I click on the "Next Page" button, the "Submit Survey" button = shows up. I then have to click the "Submit Survey" button to submit data. I = think there is an error in the programming logic for multi-page surveys. Any = idea? --Lisa |

i have installed phpesp 1.8. when the survey appears to be collecting and storing the information = properly. my email notifications of submitted surveys shows 91 = respondants. when i look in the admin interface, the results stop at 49. looking into the database, i see hat there are 91 respondants. on another survey, setup on another server, the same thing has occurred. = only this time there are 46 respondants, but only 33 appear in the = admin interface. what could be the issue here? i'm running these on: Fedora 3, apache 2, php 4.3, mysql 3.23 RH ES 3, apache 2, php 4.3, mysql 4 thanks |

I need help... I have had a problem with the module gettext, then I have looked around in the docs/TRANSLATION file, and after than I have realized that it's a problem I should report as I have read in this docs/TRANSLATION file... that's why I send you the test.php report. The problem is that I get: phpESP Language Settings a.. GNU Gettext: Real b.. default_lang: es_ES c.. current lang: es_ES d.. available langs: da_DK, de_DE, el_GR, en_US, es_ES, fi, fi_FI, fr_FR, hu_HU, it_IT, ja_JP, nl_NL, pt_BR, pt_PT, sv_SE (da, de, el, en, es, fi, fr, it, ja, nl, pt, sv) e.. GNU Gettext test: %%%% Gettext Test Failed f.. Catalog Open Test: Yes To get Real and to get the Gettext Test Failed should be a bug as stated in docs/TRANSLATION file. The question is that I cannot use the spanish language as I'd desire. Any help would be very appreciated, Thanks... Yours, Tiburcio. |

Hello, I am attempting to install phpESP on a windows machine. I am using a program called Uniform Server (http://www.uniformserver.com/) that has mySQL and Apache all ready to go. I got everything working including generating the database phpesp and populating it with tables. The problem I am having is that I can not login with root/esp so I have no way of accessing the admin page. What am I missing here? I didn't see any place to set up users, without first loging in. Thanks, Ned |

Hello 1. When I installed version 1.8 I see not the full menu like in demo and I see not any image 2. There are in the surveys messages like: Questions marked with a * are required You are missing the following required questions etc. I wish to translate them to my own language and changed these texts in the file 'messages.po' in the folder 'en_US/LC_MESSAGES' but the messages stay in English. What is a problem? Thanks Alex |

I have installed phpESP on my localhost Easyphp 1.8 which comprises: Apache 1.3.33 php 4.3.10 phpMyAdmin 2.6.1 MySQL 4.1.9 It works OK except that it will not use the themes. The CSS are all there and show on the Admin-General panel but they have = no effect. Whichever I select the surveys always appear in black and = white. Have I missed something simple ? David |

Can someone share that with me? I actually figured out what was causing my CSV timeout error above. (I don't know if this is something the developers would like to fix programmatically or if it would just be helpful to have a record of this in the listserv archives.) Anyhow... The survey that I was having the trouble was 64 questions in length with only 141 responds. Reviewing the data, I realized that approximately 20 of the questions all had the same question variable name (assigned automatically by the question editing interface). Changing these questions to each have a unique variable name, solved the problem, and I was able to successfully download the CSV file. |

I'm installing phpESP in a hosting with a farm of servers. I'm getting those warnigns. Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at /home/masmulti/public_html/encuesta.php:11) in /home/masmulti/public_html/phpESP/public/handler-prefix.php on line 59 Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/masmulti/public_html/encuesta.php: 11) in /home/masmulti/public_html/phpESP/public/handler-prefix.php on line 59 In the installation guide section 4.b it talks about problems with sessions in this kind of installation and mention the session_save_path(). I found these message http://sourceforge. net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=1240649 in the mailing list. I have inserted: session_save_path("home/masmulti/public_html/phpESP/tmp"); above de session_start() in the manage.php and the handler-prefix.php but I continue with the same error when I test my survey in the standalone mode or when I put it into another web page. Best Regards. |

Hi, I'm using the latest version (1.8), but I still get javascript errors both in IE and Firefox. Exporting any form of data is impossible, header full or small. Any ideas what might be wrong? I really need this to work as the users can't do anything with the results otherwise! Thanx Astrid __________________________________ Yahoo!
