Sorry, my message got truncated (gmail...) The password has not been changed, but just to be sure I deleted the root user and added it again using the insert line from the install db-script. I am using a database with a prefix as I am running three instances of phpesp on the same account. Well I have had many cups of coffe by now :-), so I am afraid its something at my isp that have been changed. They have upgraded mysql to 4.1 and PHP have been upgraded to version 5.2.5. Hi, just a small heads-up: I currently implementing decision-based answering, where you can add a condition to a question, eg. only show the question Z is the answer to question X is "Y". I still thinking about how to hide the questions ... probably the easiest would be to add an automatic session break before the question, so I can just decide not to show the page ... showing a div using javascript just won't work if the 2 related questions are on different pages. Any suggestions and examples are welcome, but for now it will be done using an extra page break (I still need to cover the case where the hidden question is the only question on the screen then, people don't like empty pages ...) Anyway, the problem went away after he had a cup of coffee :) So you should describe your problem in more detail, look at the database dump (the designer table) for the username of the designer and wether or not is is disabled in that table. To all: I've updated CVS for LDAP authentication now. Please make sure you change the correct parameters in phpESP.ini.php first :-) For the brave ones to test out, you can find the latest version here: http://www.e-dynamics.be/index.php?section=programs&lang=en Franky On 11/6/07, Franky Van Liedekerke <lie...@te...> wrote: > > Hi, > > you're correct ... only for the admin console for the moment. In the past I had used phpESP as a module in phpNuke and I didn't have any problems. I'm now trying to use the newest version of phpESP as a standalone on a new site I'm desigining. However, I am trouble making the initial log in to the admin section after the initial install. I'm using the required username and password (root, esp). However, it keeps giving me the "expired/disabled" message that has plagued users in the past. I'm using the stable version and have ensured that everything matched the original CVS files that came out a year or so ago. Is there any type of "test" I could possible do to see what is causing my problem? I appreciate any assistance. |

Hi, you're correct ... only for the admin console for the moment. But it shouldn't be too difficult to change this so normal user auth would be done through LDAP as well, but no auto-registration then :-) The only file that needs changing is admin/include/lib/espauth-ldap.inc. The problem is that the "realm" (group) is not configurable for the LDAP auth (only in the ini file). So first we need extra parameters in the ini file for LDAP users and LDAP manager accounts, and then we need a field that defines the LDAP attribute the realm is compared with. Interesting, but needs some work :-) If I have time today, I'll cook up something for this. Does phpESP support LDAP authentication for respondents? searching through the mailing list i think it is said that ldap authentication is only for admin console and that anybody who authenticates will have an designer account created automaticalluy and that it doesnot support respondent authentication I want a way in which only a specific group of users(let us say usrgrp1) need to respond to a survey and if any other users got hold of the link ,i don't want them to get access do the survey. I don't want to create local accounts inside phpESP Any suggestions on how to accomplish this. Thank you |

Hi, I have been using phpESP for a number of years on and off. However, just recently I installed PHPSurveyor and at the same time the cpanel of my web hoster was updated. I cannot now log into phpESP management. It says my username/password has expiered or is disabled. Can someone please help me. I would like to get in and make some changes to a survey. Ok, Just found out the problem actually from a previous bug report & fix Here is the solution mentioned -1528331 Respoondent Accounts "It's more of a documentation issue. Go to the "Change Access to a Survey" page, and then click on the Survey Name. On the page that then appears you can set the name of the group that has access, max responses, save/restore, etc. If you don't set that, the users can't log in." Now it works.I just dont want anybody else to have to spend a lot of time to figure this out.I am happy and thank you for providing this awsome software for free. comming Monday will do more testing with features. Robert. Does the download work in Firefox? Any errors in the Apache logs? What version of IE are you using? I've installed phpESP on a server, got it set up fine. I can add surveys, answer them, have the results stored, all that jazz. When I go to an active survey and click on "Export", and then either "Download" or "Save", no matter the download format, nothing happens. No errors, no files full of zeros, nothing. I just get to click the "Download" or "Save" links as much as I want with no reward. If I open the page in IE, then I get a little message at the bottom saying there are errors on the page. If I look at the error, it shows this: Line: 1 Char: 2 Error: Object expected Code: 0 URL: {The page I am on} Any insight? I'm running the latest version (1.8.2) Anthony |

Do you have any errors in the Apache log when you try this? Do you have Javascript enabled? I've just installed phpESP, set everything up, put up my first survey, I can fill it in, the results get saved. When I go to export the CSV file, by clicking either "Download" or "Save", it doesn't do anything. No zero-filled CSV file, no errors, no confirmation messages, nothing. I just get to click the "Download" button as much as I like with no response. Can anyone recommend a solution to this? I'm using the latest version (1.8.2 ) |
