Anyway, respondents are not managers. So respondent accounts can only be used for surveys, not administration. If you create a manager account and it is not working, please open a new ticket. Franky ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2008-11-17 22:47 Message: I recently installed the latest MySql, Php, Apache, and PhpEsp. After install, I login as root and create a group via the management interface. I also created a test survey and the new group, then activated it. Then I select to create a respondent account. I filled in all data field, include the password. Then I logout and try login back using the new respondent account. It wasn't successful. I got an error message saying "Incorrect User ID or Password, or your account has been disabled/expired." I login back using the root. Went to the respondent account information, I saw the password field was blank,I entered it, then check disabled was set to "no", and check the expiration date wasd set to 2009 12 31. All field looked good. Logout and try again. The result was the same error. Then I follow a post by Franky about alter the respondent and designer tables with char(64) lines. They didn't help. What went wrong? Please help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-11-04 06:36 Message: Logged In: NO It's more of a documentation issue. Go to the "Change Access to a Survey" page, and then click on the Survey Name. On the page that then appears you can set the name of the group that has access, max responses, save/restore, etc. If you don't set that, the users can't log in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-09-27 23:31 Message: Logged In: NO I've got the same problem! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-11-04 05:36 Message: Logged In: NO It's more of a documentation issue. Go to the "Change Access to a Survey" page, and then click on the Survey Name. On the page that then appears you can set the name of the group that has access, max responses, save/restore, etc. If you don't set that, the users can't log in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-09-27 21:31 Message: Logged In: NO I've got the same problem! I have not applied this patch, but visually scanning the diff shows Hiroki's changes to be correct: meta content-type should always come right after <head>. However, the one change I would suggest is that instead of showing the content-type meta only when one is defined, the meta tag is always shown but a default charset is used when absent from configuration. Example: if (empty($cfg['charset'])) { $cfg['charset'] = 'UTF-8'; } printf( "<meta http-equiv='Content-Type' content='text/html; charset=%s' />\n", $cfg['charset'] ); Regards, bishop Quoting Hiroki Nose <no...@en...>: > hi all > > The following issue in the Japanese environment. > - A browser fails in the judgment of the character-code type > because there is <META> tag behind <TITLE> tag. > > The problem was fixed. > To send patches. > > > -- Bishop Bettini ideacode, Inc. I would need to know more about the various servers in play and their functionality, but in general (a) you may conduct the survey on a different server than that running phpESP, but (b) you don't simply pass variables to http://example.com/phpESP/public/handler.php You generally need to wrap phpESP.first.php and handler.php into a single script, such as the one found in phpESP/public/survey.php, in order to (a) set-up connection to the database, etc. and (b) actually show the survey. > If not, could you > explain how we can conduct a PRIVATE survey and what changes is required our > web pages? Again, I would need to know more. However, I would generally say that you should: 1. Create a survey wrapper on the phpESP server that includes phpESP.first.php, handler-prefix.php, and handler.php. Very much like survey.php, just stripped down to the bear minimum. 2. Call that survey wrapper from the phpESP client (your "web pages") via a remote file include (if using PHP), an <object> or <iframe> HTML container, or by writing your own <form> that posts to that survey wrapper.
