phpCVSView Version 0.2 Released

Well, after much re-coding of the core operations on the project, and a great deal of assistance from Sijis, I am proud to announce the release of Version 0.2 of phpCVSView.

This new version has been completely re-architected to get away from the many limitations earlier releases had with the actual CVS protocol. We have also added infrastructure to the code to allow for theming, although at this stage the user interface does not support the changing of theme. Basic CVS module support has been added, and like the other additions to the codebase, they will be enhanced as the project continues.

The code as it stands is currently only at pre-alpha quality, with many enhancements and optimisations yet to come.

I can see the question being asked that if it is only pre-alpha why package up another version? Well the answer is simple, whilst this work has been being performed, I have received numerous email from people asking whether the project is still being developed, as many people seem to have downloaded the brokem 0.1.5 version, and this has prompted the contact.

Over the next couple of weeks, I will be getting together a list of enhancements and new features for what is planned in the upcoming releases.

Please note, that this code will not operate from the sourceforge.net project websites, as SF have firewalls which block any connections from the project web servers.

On a final note, please make suggestions for features that you would like to see in the project so we can focus our efforts on the items which would be most useful.

Kindest Regards,
Brian Cheeseman.
phpCVSView Project Leader.
