Hi, is it possible to make bridge in PHP script to connect with Java web application which uses Apache Wicket framework? Tero |

Sounds like a misunderstanding. JavaBridge is a JEE web application, not a "directory". -- Tomcat may create a directory, but that's a technical detail. I noticed that if I create a php test file in the JavaBridge subdirectory on the server it works but if I move the test script to a level above and try to call it I get the HTTP 404 error. Why does this happen? bongo |

Hi, I'm new to php/java bridge. My PHP (5.3) is currently configured as an Apache module on a Windows XP box. I also installed tomcat. When I try the test, I'm getting an error message that php-cgi.exe is missing. This is right, this file is missing. So, this is probably because I installed PHP as an Apache module. So, can I setup php/java bridge with a PHP installed as an Apache module or I must obligatory have PHP installed as CGI? If I can do that, is there some instructions somewhere? If not, at least, can I have PHP installed in both ways (as Apache module AND CGI)? Thank you for any help you may provide to me so that after it I can better understand what I can do and what I cannot. Best regards, G. Plante P.S.: My Windows XP box is only a development machine. If everything goes fine, I will install it (php/java brides) on my production server that is CentOS 6.0. |

Hi Squared, > needs to use the php_xls.dll. I need to enable this extension please see our FAQ at http://php-java-bridge.sourceforge.net/pjb/FAQ.html, section "I want to ship my own PHP web application. Where do I put PHP and PHP extensions?" The paths mentioned there have been changed in version 6, but you will easily figure out the new paths from the documentation (see your comment below). For details please see ChangeLog (http://php-java-bridge.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/php-java-bridge/php-java-bridge/ChangeLog?view=markup) and the documentation download, which contains an example .war file. > ;; Add your configuration files to the D:\Tomcat > 6.0\webapps\tpms\WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\conf.d instead. > > ;; PHP extensions go to D:\Tomcat > 6.0\webapps\tpms\WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\ext. Hello, I have Javabridge set up on Apache Tomcat 6. I have a php application that needs to use the php_xls.dll. I need to enable this extension, but am running into problems. I searched the forums, and found <http://php-java-bridge.sourceforge.net/pjb/FAQ.html> http://php-java-bridge.sourceforge.net/pjb/FAQ.html but I am still having problems. I am clearly confused on how to set this up. So far I have: Copied the "php-cgi.exe" file from the "D:\Program Files\PHP" folder to the "WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows" folder. I have copied all of the dll files from the "D:\Program Files\PHP\ext" folder to the "WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\ext" folder. I have created a .ini file for all of these extensions and included them in the "WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\conf.d" folder. - ex. mysql.ini has {extension="php_mysql.dll"} as its only content. I have not added anything to the "WEB-INF/pear" folder as I don't know what goes there. Opening phpinfo(); works, but doesn't show any of my extensions loaded, including mysql. A "php.ini" file is generated in the "WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows" folder, but only contains: ;; -*- mode: Scheme; tab-width:4 -*- ;; A simple php.ini ;; DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE! ;; Add your configuration files to the D:\Tomcat 6.0\webapps\tpms\WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\conf.d instead. ;; PHP extensions go to D:\Tomcat 6.0\webapps\tpms\WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\ext. Please see phpinfo() for ABI version details. extension_dir="D:\Tomcat 6.0\webapps\tpms\WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\ext" include_path="D:\Tomcat 6.0\webapps\tpms\WEB-INF\pear;." Any help would be greatly appreciated. Squared |

Hi, I used PHP-Java bridge in PHP 5.1 and it works fine. When the PHP is updated to 5.2 PHP-Java bridge didnt work. After the line Java.inc included using require_once, the next line didnt executes i.e., some error occurred in Java.inc file, but works fine in PHP 5.1. Thanks for your support. Regards, Rajasekar |

Ok, to be more specific: when I call "error_log ("user: " & $_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_USER']);" I get the following error message: "PHP Notice: Undefined index: PHP_AUTH_USER in " This code works in PHP (e.g. after a basic authentication has been filled in, $_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_USER'] normally contains the username) Any ideas why this variable is not accesible? Hi, I've set up the bridge successfully and am able to ejecute php files from with a java app. What I notice is that the php code can't access the $_SERVER variables anymore. Is this correct? Is there anything I can do to activate it? This access is needed by the php execution. Thanks in advance. Best regards, Bo van Weert |

Just a quick reply: $lambda = function() { function q() {...} } binds q local to $lambda. If you wrap the include("java.inc"), all bindings should be local to that function. |

Hi Jost, I've tried to set it up, but without success so far. Sorry for maybe repeating the question, but I still find below issues unclear. > If you change these to use getter/setters, your problem is solved. Where should these getter/setters be defined? Within Java.inc - if yes then I have again the same problem of having different "environments" for different instances of bridge. > It's not static. The bindings are created in the current top-level > environment, not in the global environment. Since there is no specific namespace defined in Java.inc, how can we change/influence current "top-level environment" of Java.inc so that we can have two separate instances of client? I always stuck on this part because only of first call client is created and on subsequent calls existing one is returned. function *__javaproxy_Client_getClient*() { * static $client=null;* * if(!is_null($client)) return $client;* if (function_exists("java_create_client")) $client=java_create_client(); else { global $java_initialized; $client=new java_Client(); $java_initialized=true; } return $client; } btw. from what I understood, as far as you know, this hasn't been tried/tested so far?
