Hey there. After several ideas I rejected, I'm now kind of being at a loss, so I need your help. How may a GUI for the GB->PDB (and reverse) converter look like? It must be capable of: * To convert single games with a minimum of user action * To support experienced Un*x console junkies as well as absolute beginners Nice to have: * To show information on single games (sizes etc.) * To reconvert single games * To crossconvert/transform single games, i.e. PalmBoy <-> Phoinix * Choosable targets for conversion into PDB What do you think of: * Un*x: option to call 'pilot-xfer' instead of storing the converted game for instant installation * Windows/MacOS: option to store the converted game in HotSync's install directory for installation [need any information how to do this!] * Batch mode * Choosable filename for created files * Choosable database name (game's name in Phoinix) * To convert saved cartridge RAM (.sav file) Notes: * As it will be programmed in Java, I'm not sure that Windows/MacOS/X11 drag'n'drop is possible. * What I need are ideas on GUI layout and user interaction, not the implementation ;-) Please feed me with your thoughts. Any sketches are welcome! TIA, Bodo |
