#51 Error: 404 Not Found

In version 1.1.20 when I press the "Retrieve gene from Ensembl" button, and enter the gene name in the small window, after two or three seconds it displays an error window: "Error: 404 Not Found". I have checked my browser connection to Ensembl, and I have checked several genes from different organisms. What can be cause of this problem?

I am having the same exact problem, "Error: 404 Not Found" when i try to 'retrieve gene from ensembl'..i have tried to switch from internet explorer to mozilla firefox as the internet browser under 'preferences', but i get the same result.

This is happening with version 1.1.20. Two to three years ago this was not happening with PerlPrimer.

I use Windows XP.

Please advise.

I've uploaded a patched perlprimer.pl to the patches section which has updated URLs for the current ensembl website. I'd imagine once Owen or someone else who maintains perlprimer has had a chance to look it over, they may release an updated version. In the meantime, you could download my patched version and use it.
