    PeppermintOS 22-02-19
Everything seems working fine - hybrid AMD graphics, media keys, suspend power management, screen power management/brightness controls.

Hi there. Just have a question about brightness control. Ihave always had this problem with XFCE desktops on my computers ( I read online where this is a bug with XFCE ). This only happens with XFCE and not with any other desktops

Everytime I reboot, my brightness control resets itself to zero. On my lenovo desktop, it resets itself to maximum brightness everytime. It may seem like a minor issue but its kinda annoying for me :)

Is there any way to set the brightness on my computer and have it stay at that setting on each boot ?? Thanks so much for any help.

Peppermint is a great distro and normally runs well. Thanks for all your hard work.

Thank you Peppermint OS for your prompt reply. Installed xbacklight. Seems there is alot to set it up and get it running :) The intructions given at stack exchange to install and run it are really a little bit beyond me. I don't want to mess up my system. I'll just leave it for now. Its not a huge issue overall. Thanks anyway.

No worries....I often use red shift for the whole color temp things.
Its the first thing I install on all my machines.... brightness gives me bad headaches...LOL
Its generally a automatic controlled tool based on time of day.
Its easy to use and install..
You can read about it here if you thinks it helpful.

I think you, generalmooseance, should make a new thread under "Hardware" so we can discuss ways of solving this. That way, others who might be interested in this subject will have a reference point where they can look.
