I recently discovered Peppermint Debian Base(trixie), and it’s a great lightweight distro. I even left a very positive review on DistroWatch (10/10).
While playing around with it a bit more, I noticed that Kumo doesn’t always work properly - especially if LibreWolf is removed. For me, it was actually easier to just write a small Kumo alternative in Perl.
It’s a command-line tool for now. A GUI would be possible if Perl Prima were included with Peppermint, so users wouldn’t need to install anything extra. The program does what it’s meant to do.
Attached: webdesk.zip and unzip it in the directory you want.
Feel free to give it a try, have a look at the README, and let me know if you run into any bugs. Thanks!
