Did you logout from the desktop clicking the suspend button or close the laptop lid? I'm leaning towards the system has gone into Hibernation. When you installed the OS did you mirror your swap partition to total ram memory 1 to 1 basis.
Are you able to boot into the console or the desktop and supply us the printout from this command: inxi -Fxz

What happens when you press Ctrl+Alt+Delete will it reboot to Windows. Because you have an important decision to make about Windows 8.1. It has reached End of Life.
If it does reboot to Windows, great, then copy all your critical data and files from your laptop to an external disk. It is up to you if you want to pay M$ a load of money to delete Windows 8.1 and install Windows 11, then dual boot with PeppermintOS.
Or you could salvage all your files and have leave your hard earnt in your wallet by only installing Peppermint.

I added a 2GB swap partition and still the same problem, windows 8.1 has to stay because I need it sometimes, well if I don't find a solution I will install another Linux

I do not know how it happened and what solved the problem (swap?) unfortunately again suspend does not work, all the symptoms have returned as described above, I have no idea why today it worked fine and now it does not work again, the situation is not resolved, I give up, I have not found a solution , end.

Normal install. What do you mean? The Erase and Install option?
Underneath that option, there is a drop-down menu that offers you three method of swap. No Swap. Swap File or Swap Partition.

Review how I set up a
