3 or 4 days ago, I downloaded a mini-install and used it to download/install Cinnamon
At the end of installation, it failed
I left it at that
Today I downloaded latest (17jan) mini-install
Everything went exactly the same, but today I decided to push on
When I got the message ( to go back and try again---which failed ) I toll the installer to carry on,
which he did for 5 minutes and it finished the installation.
On reboot, there was nothing in my bootmenu ( so--> that was the issue I suppose )
I rebooted into my working pclos-cinnamon, went to Grub-Customizer and let the program install a bootloader
On reboot. I was able to login to PeppermintOS Cinnamon
On installing applications I got a message that there was a broken package...please fix !
I couldn't !
The message that I get is: problem at /etc/skel/,config/neofetch/config.conf .......which is also in package
pep-cinnamon-settings1.0-1pepppermint
After that I played around with it for 10 minutes and I have to say it looks v-e-r-y good
If you need more info, just ask, but be precise as I do not have the knowledge that enables one to guess
I can make the time to do a new install if required
Have fun
Note--I installed AcorOS-Cinnamon ---> no problems
Oh I forgot
This morning I installed Devuan 5.01 Cinnamon via a network installer
There was no problem at all
Same source, same hardware-same hard disk

Thanks for the replies
but
Today I decided to give it another try
I downloaded the Mini-install, put on usb and started.
The instalation went flawlesly up to : < Installing x-server-xorg-legacy (amd64).
After that an error message to try again--->> which I did NOT do >.
Instead I carried on ignoring next error and next
Installatio finished
Rebooted, and as expected , no bootin menu
There I had a choice
a-boot in via USB stick
b-install other distro ( pclos)
I choose b for my own reasons
After install and reboot, there was a NEW Boot-in Menu
In that Menu was peppermintos listed
Pressed enter and it booted up flawlessly
When entering Synaptic ( like I did yesterday ) there was immediatly reported ---> An installation step failed.
The grub-efi-amd package failed to install
No bootloader has been installed >
----->> So, strictly spoken: Peppermint installer can not install a bootloader and can not bootup your Distro, but-but-but anotheR Distros can pick up the fault on install, correct it and makes your favorite D boot up !!!!!!!!
OK just a last one
On your webside you state that for the minis you use the same as Debian.( Devuan ? )
But Devuan installer worked flawlessly yesterday and yours did not ( not today, not yesterday and not 4 days ago )
How can it be same if one installs flawlessly (2x) and the other failed(3x)
See you next week ,,,, maybe
