Hello, I have been using Peppermint on my old 32bit Acer Aspire One since around 2015 when Windows XP would no longer run on it. I got up to Peppermint 9, and that's where it has stayed. It just keeps running, is still running okay (as long as you don't want to use a web browser) but I no longer get updates. Should I just leave it as is? Is it possible to upgrade to the latest 32bit Peppermint or does it not have enough resources to run it? Here are the specs:
ACER ASPIRE ONE NOTEBOOK
CPU: Intel Atom processor N270 32bit
RAM: 1GB DDR2
HDD: 160GB
Wow! that is a trooper......
Sorry in terms of an upgrade path, there is not one. It is because that is based on Ubuntu.
You will need to download and install the 32 bit release. Here
If you can try it out in a VM first and see how you like it. Peppermint these days is different from what you may be used to. This link is a break down of what you can expect. That can help you decide if you want to use the newer Peppermint.
If you do have any questions just let us know.
Hope this helps

Thanks for your help! Yes, this notebook is a real trooper! I was mostly wondering if it even meets the hardware requirements for the new 32bit Peppermint? If I did try installing it and it didn't run well, I guess there's no way to go back to Peppermint 9?

Yes, that is correct....we do not have any of the older ubuntu ISOs, as the project goes.... Unfortunately that stuff disappeared with the last development crew of Peppermint
The current crew we have is all Debian / Devuan
