    Hi
As I have for 10 years only used < MyLivecd > for backing up my installed distro, I am not sure what is good/best/recommended fot PeppermintOS
At the moment, I am looking at < Rescuezilla > which is a clone of < Clonezilla >.

However, giving me YOUR choice may be helpful to me

Note : I only want to know < the name > , not : Howto.....

    Thanks

    sudo apt install timeshift

Numerous levels of backing system OS or OS with data, also system recovery, either in the system or by USB livecd. With daily and hourly settings. If a disaster occurs after one your hourly back-ups have been completed you can go back one hour or two hours to the then system settings.

After much consideration, I have decided to follow your advice and start using Timeshift.
Possibly it's better I drop old habits and change to more productive time management

    Thanks

I have used Timeshift for some time.
It works well, but...but...but I prefer to make an ISO which I can put on single USB or Ventoy-stick and carry with me and can install any time any place any comp
    Long live < mylivecd >

i dont bother with os backups nowadays, i just use grsync to copy the user folder data over to a second drive on the system and reinstall when needed. if its a laptop ill use an external drive as a temporary location.

------->i dont bother with os backups nowadays,
Yes, you are right. I shouldn't either.
90% of them you never need.
It's just the other 10% which come in handy sometimes :-) :-)

for me its quicker to reinstall than attempt to fix or rescue the system, but i have spare installs on other drives i can fire up at any time.
