After installing Nemo file manager , I go to /Settings/Default applications
There you have the choice of File managers
When I enter Nemo , I get a failure message on trying to open it.
When I enter nemo, all is well.
But......on opening the file manager, it says it's Nemo, not nemo
Please fix this typo-error when you got nothing else to do :-) :-)

OldTon - This is actually the way the developers over at nemo wrote the application.
For example if you open terminal and run: thunar then thunar will open
or Thunar then thunar will open
If you do nemo then nemo will open
but if you do Nemo you get an error
All this has to do with the way the nemo folks made the executable.
if you go to /usr/bin
You will see a nemo executable that is the only thing that runs nemo..... that is also the reason why Nemo does not work because no executable named Nemo exists...
In that same folder scroll till you see thunar and Thunar in this case, you see the thunar executable and the Thunar symlink. and that is why you can use both of those universally
Getting back to the default applications when you try Nemo it failed because there is no executable for that Nemo command.
All in all its not really a typo but rather the way the nemo folks packages their application for Debian
I hope that helps sort of get an idea why the issue is happening

The capital N in nemo when opened is probably down to a visual preference, but most executables ive seen are all lower case apart from the likes of NetworkManager.
