I have installed this printer, with help from Kyocera BUT it still does not do double sided printing from LibreOffice (v 7.4....) It does work correctly from a pdf print ie LibreOffice -> print to pdf -> pdf reader -> printer.
Has anyone else had any success with this printer/libreOffice/PeppermintOS combo ?
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Go to Printers > [Your Kyocera Model] > Administration > Set Default Options.
Under Options Installed, make sure the Duplexer is marked as 'Installed.'
Under General, set 'Duplex' to '2-sided Long Edge' and save.
I assume you may be using PepDebian, if you're using the Flatpak version of LibreOffice, it might be a permissions issue with the print portal. The native .deb (apt) version usually handles CUPS communication more reliably.
Hope those things may help you

Thanks, Sorry for the delay, but we are volunteers for the site so we only get in when we are available.
But here goes:
1: Yes Duplex was chosen and on Long edge - but no joy
2.Set OFF PDF as Standard' But again no change
In Cups - 631 could not find out about instaled Duplex BUT
some items about JCL which then lead down to Logging .
We ran the sudo command to turn on logging AND it worked.
We can now print both single sided and duplex.
An examination of the log in /var/log/cups does not show any errors
So many thanks for your help and suggestions. And this can now be closed

There are few things to try
LibreOffice sometimes 'hides' the duplex option if it hasn't properly queried the printer's capabilities.
Sometimes LibreOffice tries to be too smart and uses a generic PostScript driver instead of the specific Kyocera PPD.
If the system default isn't explicitly set to 'Long Edge Binding,' LibreOffice may default to 'Off.'
