Hello everyone, forum users and developers. I would like to clarify the system requirements of Pepper Mint. Firstly, I would like to ask whether 8 GB is enough to install Pepper Mint and are the system requirements on the site up to date?

Hi and welcome!
8GB is enough to install Peppermint. I personally run it on my daily driver with 8GB.
with a 4core AMD processor. thats bare metal..
For the minimum requirements yes they are up to date, all of the development I do for Pep is in VMs using qemu in those environments I use one core and 1GB or ram, it is not he fastest thing in the world but it runs enough for what would be the minimum. It is true if you install a heavy web browser that will be rough....
If I do 4GB of ram to the VM its much more tolerable, of course...LOL which would be a good spot for recommended.
Hope that helps

I have (well, its my sisters, but I'm preparing it for them now) older notebook with 4GB or RAM and I can say Peppermint OS behaves quite well so far with all my tests.

@KaramelWay
I have a 17 year old Compaq Presario V3700 with 4 Gb RAM
peppermintOS was installed about 2 years ago and is still running fine
Gets used about 2 hours a day, every 2 days
No problems
Have a good day
