First, may I add myself to the list of fans to congratulate you on this wonderful software!

I have yet to use it, but it shows great promise!  I can't believe it all fits on a floppy!

Two reasons why I have yet to use it are:
    1) I have 8 Meg of RAM.  I know this is a limitation discussed in another thread, so I'll leave that there...
    2) there is virtually no documentation, and I like to know a product well before plunging in.

I see that there is some documentation in the system itself, but it's "locked in", i.e. I can't print it out, and am limited to copying to paper, which is slow and not very productive.

Is it possible to post this documentation somewhere, for downloading and printing (or reading from my PDA)?

    Thanks!

P.S.: Meanwhile, I'd settle for the command-line syntax for backing up over 8 Meg; I'll post this request in the "More than 2MB" thread.

Well, there's some documentation on the web page
      (http://penguinbackup.sourceforge.net).

If you'd like to read (and print) the texts from the internal help system, you can go to the CVS repository (from the project page), ie.
          http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/?cvsroot=penguinbackup

from there, you can go to the help texts with your browser,
      e.g. http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/PenguinBackup/help/?cvsroot=penguinbackup
and select a file, then the version, and "download"
(you can also view the system's source code this way).

      Salut, Ren

Merci, Ren, that's exactly what I needed - and more!

I had seen the doc at http://penguinbackup.sourceforge.net, but this was limited. What I needed was the more in-depth docs found at http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/PenguinBackup/help/?cvsroot=penguinbackup.

Incidentally, PGUI very nicely addresses many of my needs on the PC side, and will allow me to do large backups, which I will then separate and place onto separate disks for restoring via the Linux-based floppy system.

I`m still trying to get the hang of this SourceForge thingy, but it looks like a Good Thing!

      Cheers,
        -Paul  (<I>Visor</I>)
