is there any chance of USB support for the Visor? Or is this not yet available in Linux, I'm about two years behind in Linux knowledge so I don't have a clue.
Otherwise I'll have to buy and IrDA dongle for my notebook PC, a messy solution.

USB support is available with the newer Linux kernels (see e.g. http://usbvisor.sourceforge.net\), so it should be possible to integrate it into PenguinBackup.
However, it is not planned for the next version (which will have the >2MB support), but maybe for a future version.
The current version will, however, work with a Visor and the USB/serial adapter.

I've just started working on this as a new developer for this project =) I have a Visor too. It's not difficult in and of itself, it's just the extra space that it will take on the floppy.
