Penacho demo DVD released

As libraries (and software itself) is becoming obsolete, I've uploaded an old Knoppix Live DVD with a completely operational penacho copy. Feel free to burn and boot, or virtualize in VirtualBox, e.g.

Penacho doc released

Finally Spanish documentation about penacho is released at SourceForge.

It's a complete PDF report (>100 pages) written in LaTeX. It includes physic modeling, resolution algorithm, program users' manual and programmers' manual.
LaTeX mathematical equations and symbols match exactly those on the source code. A table references every equation label (as eq:Wx) with its equation number and page at document.... read more

Most important is the Screenshots page: lots of pictures of user interface and simulation plots. Every image is commented, so it's a great place to know about what Penacho can do and how: kind data requested to the user, solver and plot options, atmospheric modeling variables, plume graphs, data exportation, pollutant distribution graphs (both grid-planes and iso-surfaces), and some parametric analysis comparison pictures.... read more

Penacho 0.1 Released

Penacho is a simulation software that calculates and draws the gas dispersion of a smokestack in the atmosphere.

The user can input the problem data in a structured graphical interface: fluid characteristics at the chimney output, air and surface conditions, atmospheric stability and yearly wind conditions. It's a huge amount of data, but Penacho starts with a typical problem parameters. The UI uses the Qt libraries.... read more
