hmm... seems I spoke too soon...
if I use 'peck' with sound 'door1' it seems to mess up the mixer or 
something and I have to restart the peep server to get sound again.

If I had to make a wild guess I'd guess the volume is getting turned 
down by peep. Or something's getting corrupted?
