Bad news.  It took me alot longer to get everything tucked away for the
trip, so I didn't have time to make the fix or get the RC out.  (Five
"find" statements that weren't quite right later, I'm still trying to
get rid of the README warning messages in the make.  Murgh!)

I'll be back on Monday night (though probably not productive until
Tuesday), so I'll make another stab at it then ....
