Running Version 5.9.1 of Peazip on Windows 10 pro x64
I am unable to compress or extract anything with chinese (unicode?) characters.
The warning prompt I am given is "Some input files cannot be read (maybe locked, not accessible or corrupted)"
Under report tab:
Error:
cannot open file
C:\Users\CC\Desktop\隤?7z.7z.tmp
The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
Under console tab:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\PeaZip\res\7z\7z.exe" a -t7z -m0=LZMA -mmt=on -mx5 -md=16m -mfb=32 -ms=2g -sccUTF-8 -bb0 -wC:\Users\CC\Desktop\ C:\Users\CC\Desktop\隤?7z C:\Users\CC\Desktop\隤?txt
I also checked the Windows setting for handling non-Unicode programs and it is properly set to Chinese.
Once I rename the file removing the chinese characters Peazip compresses or decompresses with out an hitch. I've tried a bunch or random chinese characters and it all results in this issue so it's not bound to a specific character.
Unicode filename handling code was completely rewritten in 6.0.0 release, in my test machines all works as expected. Do the problems you experienced persist with new release?
The problem seems to be resolved in the 6.0.0 release. Thanks and keep up the good work!
