#154 10.3.4 boots but wont install

i have mac os x 10.3.4 disks which boot fine (from cd
and image) but after partitioning the drive(image) the
OSX installer says 'You cannot install Mac OS X on this
volume. You cannot startup your computer using this volume"

i had this same problem, but exiting the install and
restarting it allowed me to install on the partition i created.

Have you tried to download a pre-partioned MacOSX image?
