On slower computers the sliders were a bit sticky (delayed). This was due to the saving of the configuration causing the slowness of the sliders. Now a new background save features is implemented in version 1.6.7.10. Also, this version has a dedicated upmix panel for having better control over an upmix.
For the visual impaired and blind people Peace can now be set to a mode which better supports these impairments.... read more
A small bug has been reported. I've corrected this for version 1.6.6.0 in which the manual also has been improved.
This new update is all about convenience. There now is the option to have a balance, bass and/or treble slider on the main screen above the EQ sliders. This is set on the Effects panel. Another handy feature is the showing of the peak value of the audio on the Peace icon on the Windows taskbar. And to start up Peace with or without a selected configuration there's now an interface under the Shortcut button.... read more
The Peace midi panel, for using a midi controller to control Peace features like its EQ sliders, has been improved. And the OSD (on-screen display) has also been improved. It can now contain more than one message. This is handy when you use 1 midi controller which controls 2 or more EQ sliders.
Version 1.6.3.6 introduces the midi panel to support your midi devices. Many Peace features like moving sliders or changing the bass, can be done by the controllers on your midi device and keyboard. For convenience the change from a moving, turning and pressing controller will be shown in a on-screen display (which can be customized). And some midi devices are available in the midi devices subfolder of the Files section on the Peace website.... read more
Today I've released a standalone app of the AutoEQ interface of Peace. It's called Bard which stands for Browser for AutoEQ Results Database . It's for equalizing your headphones with Equalizer APO. To do so, you can easily find your specific brand and type of headphones and copy the commands of an equalization to Equalizer APO. Such an equalization makes your headphones neutral so you're able to add the bass and treble you want.... read more
The new version 1.6.2.6 now has an AutoEQ interface on which you can easily select an equalization of your brand and type of headphones. A few clicks and your headphones gets a neutral EQ so you can enhance them to your liking. Thanks to the great project of Jaakko Pasanen. I'll also soon release a stand-alone app of this AutoEQ interface. That's useful if you use Equalizer APO without the Peace equalizer interface.... read more
One or more users have noticed that the antivirus apps of Webroot deletes the PeaceSetup.exe file of Peace version 1.6.1.2 after it has been downloaded. This prevents you to install Peace.
The solution is to whitelist Peace with this support form of Webroot. In others words, to tell them that Peace is alright.
This tool corrects the bug which makes the Configuration Editor of Equalizer APO crash at startup. Its interface briefly appears then crashes.
This bug occurs after detaching the analysis panel (lower graph window) from the editor. And it's removed by deleting the 'windowState' registry key item from the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\EqualizerAPO\Configuration Editor' key. So that's exactly what this tool does.
Vibe stands for Versatile Interface for Benchmarking Equalizer APO by using its Benchmarking.exe tool.
It can be found here on SourceForge including its source code.

Version 1.6.1.2 has a new interface for entering factors for the (re)routing of the channels (speakers). And this new version also is a bug fix. Peace doesn't crash any longer when importing eq's and copying/removing speakers.
This Peace version has one exciting new feature. It's possible to give Peace commands such a switching to another configuration, from within other apps. This means you can build for instance an interface widget/skin in RainMeter. For example purposes I've included a small app called PeaceWindowMessages.exe. And there's a specific chapter on this in the manual.
More themes are now available also for the new multichannel peak value meter which shows the peaks for all possible channels of an audio device.
This bug fix version eliminates all issues with the pre amplification when Peace is hidden in tray. Thanks to members of the Peace community for working on these issues.
Besides under the Hotkey button, a configuration hotkey can also be selected on the configuration save window.
This release removes the bug of decimal pre amplifying values. Such values could freeze up Peace.
Also included is a new improved configuration hotkey window. A hotkey can be selected from a dropdown box.
As the bug fix version 1.5.7.0 is only partly fixing a bug, for now I've made the former version 1.5.5.5 available as the current one.
This version 1.5.7.0 is mainly a bug fix. When Peace was hidden in the Windows system tray switching to another configuration didn't work properly.
Also included are the numpad keys to be used as hotkeys.
For upmixing a switch has been added to upmix without detecting a stereo input, in other words Always.
There seems to be a bug in the latest version 1.5.6.4. When Peace is in tray, activating a configuration by hotkey or system tray menu isn't always working properly. I'm working on a fix for this which will be released soon.
The headphones and hearing test interface has been improved. Main improvement is a equal-loudness contour selection for getting a better equalization from your test profile.
There has been some improvements on the usage of scroll wheels on Windows 10.
Hotkeys F12 and numlock, scrolllock, capslock have been added. The "lock" keys can be used without the need for a ctrl, alt or shift key.
The stereo and spatial delay knobs on the Effects panel can also have a tiny delay. The knobs are now exponential ones.
After updating to the Windows 10 October update 20H2 my sound when dead. This was caused by the deselection of the main 2 devices after the update: speakers and microphone. Also this update removed Equalizer APO from those devices. However, this was easily corrected by starting the Configurator of Equalizer APO and restarting my computer.
Version 1.5.5.5 is a major update. It includes a new interface for testing one's ears and headphones. But there are so many improvements and new features so I'll stated just a few:
- Turkish language thanks to Mustafa Buğbul and Spanish language thanks to Alejandro.
- A new surround effect including a panel with settings.
- Speed up: Peace is now quicker in refreshing its window when selecting another configuration.
- Knobs and switches on the Effects panel has been rearranged. Now it's more clear.
- The "Prevent clipping" feature has been improved. It only works on output devices and Equalizer APO must be installed on them.
- A new slider properties window is added. A slider can be colored and tagged with a name (shown in its tooltip).
- Several new configurations are added such as "Equalizer 5 Band" and "Voice".
As Equalizer APO breaks at filter frequencies higher than 22050 Hz, Peace limits any input (by slider, keyboard and graph) to 22050 Hz.
The device list has been improved:
* At many devices a scrollbar is shown.
* When a device hasn't have Equalizer APO installed on it, a warning popup window will be shown.
* A small C button for opening the Configurator of Equallizer APO is now at the right of the device list.
* A device without a name is now process correctly (yes, an audio device manufacturer did forgot to enter a device name).... read more
These release now supports the audio device called "Voicemeeter A1 Output" (where A1 maybe up to A5). As Voicemeeter has these internal audio devices Peace wasn't able to show them on the device list as Windows devices. But Equalizer APO did support it already so now Peace does too.
A new tab called Activate by hotkey is now available on the Automation window. When you want to put a configuration (preset) on top of the main configuration on the main Peace window you can add it in this new tab. By pressing its hotkey you can switch it on or off. A good example is an upmix configuration where you want to fill all your surround speakers with a stereo input (song). But if the input changes to 7.1 you want to switch this upmix off. Besides pressing a configuration hotkey you can also click its tray menu item.... read more
Bug release: When Windows fails to return properties of an audio device it causes a crash of Peace.
Besides a major bug repair, the Always active configurations weren't processed properly, this update has an improved handling and (re)selection of audio devices. And many more hotkeys are now possible through a more advanced hotkeys tab on the settings window.
The installation tab on the Peace Setup tool has been reordered to make it more clear how to install Equalizer APO and Peace.
This new release is certified by Certum (Asseco). All executables now have a code signing certificate. I hope it will boost the reputation of the Peace executables and will reduce the false positives.
The main feature of this new release is the sliders for hotkeys settings. For each individual slider a hotkey can be attached so a slider can be increased/decreased while you're working in another app.
