Unfortunately, PDFedit does need qt3, it cannot work with qt4 (or qt5), so if you happen to have a distro without qt3, you may need to compile qt3 from sources. There were plans to port the GUI to Qt4, but due to complexity and few key things from qt3 missing in qt4, the conversion was not a success. There is a beta qt4 GUI created outside of the project that may work, although I've not tried it.
