[pix_video] not working on new Retina Display Macbook Pros
Brought to you by:

[pix_video] object does not work when streaming from built-in iSight cameras on new Macbook Pros with Retina displays. All you see is a white screen.... and error is "could not make SG channel error -9405" is reported. See attached screengrab. This was tested across multiple machines with same result - all latest Macbook Pros have this issue. However, works on latest iMac. Note: Tested on brand new machines - late 2014/early 2015 models running Mac OS Yosemite.

Just for information, because it's important for teaching.
I can reproduce this error on this model:
- macbook air 11" - early 2014 - osx 10.10.4 - 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5 - Intel HD 5000
but pix_video is working fine on this model, that was upgraded from older osx version:
- macbook pro 13" - mi 2012 - osx 10.10.4 - 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 - Intel HD 4000
so it seems that when you upgrade the os, it keeps somehow the Quicktime framework.
Doesn't that mean we can copy some files to make it work?
thanks nicolas, that's good news.
the downside is that we probably cannot provide those files ourselves, due to license issues.
Do you have any ideas of what these files are?
I assume we can name them at least, and that every osx user might have some right to use them?

Hello, anyone find a solution to this? Running OSX 10.10.4 on 13" Retina, early 2015 and no luck.
the ne w
videoAVF
backend should support all modern cameras.closing as fixed (with
videoAVF
)
