Hi, I'm on Lubuntu 13.10 (beta 2), and I've just upgraded every basic thing to the latest, including pcmanfm, now at v1.1.99.0.

Unfortunately there might have been one update I shouldn't have done, and that was this.
On my vanilla installation, pcmanfm has worked PERFECTLY, popping up a dialog box asking me for a password to mount my NTFS partitions (bit annoying, but it's OK).

Now, nothing is mounted anymore. And when I click from partition to partition, I get the error message "An operation is already pending" but nothing is mounted. Everything is just stalled.
Once it happened that the error message window didn't close anymore despite clicking a zillion times, and I had to restart X. Argh!!
Unfortunately there is no way to see what pcmanfm is doing. Whilst KDE and some GNOME applications are widely known to write everything nonsensical to terminal (GTK warning blah blah blah), pcmanfm doesn't give any output at all.

So how can you figure out what's wrong?

Might be a libfm issue, because I've just test-installed thunar and it's the very same thing.

Well, PCManFM is writing warnings and errors into terminal. But that described thing is seemed not be the case. It doesn't show you warning because GVFS (which does mount operation, not libfm or pcmanfm) accepted the job but not finished it. That may be problem in either gvfs or in policykit. And also - how have you upgraded pcmanfm and libfm? Does pcmanfm show you version of libfm it uses (the latest pcmanfm should show it)? If you did not use lubuntu-dev PPA but done that manually then I would recommend you use that PPA instead, it has the most recent libfm and pcmanfm packages.

I would like you to test latest GIT sources of LibFM and PCManFM, there were some fixes in regard of your issue and I hope it is fixed for you now. Close the report if it is fixed now. Thank you very much!

    Sorry for not replying.

I've done a full upgrade to saucy (final) meanwhile (with some bits from tahr) , and the latest PcManFM version is now 1.1.99.7 (with LibFM v1.2.0-beta3).
Please let me know if I need a yet newer version to repeat my testcase.

Yes, that is latest version. Does it work fine now or still does not? If it does not then I'm afraid that is a problem with gvfs or policykit.
    Thank you very much.

Sorry for not coming back to this one earlier again...yes, the accumulated entity of 1.1 + 1.2 fixes seems to have eliminated this issue.
Should I encounter anything fishy in the future about mounting external partitions, I will let you know in time.

Thank you very much for all your efforts.
