Category: Crash Group: 5.8.0 Stable Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Eric Adam (knifie_sp00nie) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Crash on startup Initial Comment: I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.1 and PCgen crashes on startup. I tried this on two different systems (same os version) with the same results and error message. I also get the same error and results when launching older versions (5.8rc7, 5.6). Everything worked fine on OS 10.3.9. Both systems were upgraded by the "archive and install" process. ===== Saturday, May 28, 2005 10:36:41 AM US/Central ===== Bad main entry point in pcgen.gui.pcGenGUI java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke (NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke (DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:324) at pcgen.core.Main.main(Main.java:76) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke (NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke (DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:324) at apple.launcher.LaunchRunner.run(LaunchRunner.java:88) at apple.launcher.LaunchRunner.callMain(LaunchRunner.java: 50) at apple.launcher.JavaApplicationLauncher.launch (JavaApplicationLauncher.java:52) Caused by: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 5 > 4 at java.util.Vector.insertElementAt(Vector.java:557) at apple.laf.ScreenMenuBar.add(ScreenMenuBar.java:242) at apple.laf.ScreenMenuBar.addSubmenu(ScreenMenuBar.java: 200) at apple.laf.ScreenMenuBar.addNotify(ScreenMenuBar.java:51) at java.awt.Frame.setMenuBar(Frame.java:583) at apple.laf.AquaMenuBarUI.setScreenMenuBar (AquaMenuBarUI.java:98) at apple.laf.AquaMenuBarUI.getPreferredSize (AquaMenuBarUI.java:76) at javax.swing.JComponent.getPreferredSize(JComponent.java: 1307) at javax.swing.JRootPane$RootLayout.layoutContainer (JRootPane.java:906) at java.awt.Container.layout(Container.java:1020) at java.awt.Container.doLayout(Container.java:1010) at java.awt.Container.validateTree(Container.java:1092) at java.awt.Container.validateTree(Container.java:1099) at java.awt.Container.validate(Container.java:1067) at java.awt.Window.show(Window.java:461) at java.awt.Component.show(Component.java:1133) at java.awt.Component.setVisible(Component.java:1088) at pcgen.gui.pcGenGUI.<init>(pcGenGUI.java:225) at pcgen.gui.pcGenGUI.main(pcGenGUI.java:398) ... 12 more ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Eric Beaudoin (ericbeaudoin) Date: 2005-05-29 11:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=324612 No arm done Eric. Ray, can you tell me which package you use to install (win installer or the _full version). Also, did you install it in a new directory or do you have older stuff in the mix like older .lst files or CMP files? And Ray, you might have a different error message then what Eric had. Eric's error message is normally only found on Mac with OS X Tiger. Can you paste your message here please. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Eric Adam (knifie_sp00nie) Date: 2005-05-29 11:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=824077 Doh. I did use the installer. When I used the full version it worked. Sorry. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Ray Benjamin (rben) Date: 2005-05-29 11:19 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=455838 I'm having the same problem with the lastest version (PCGen580) on a Windows XP SP2 machine. I'm using the latest version of Java 1.5. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Eric Beaudoin (ericbeaudoin) Date: 2005-05-28 12:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=324612 Is it possible that you didn't follow the instructions and used the Mac installer with Tiger? There is a know issue with something that Tiger introduced and that makes the PCGen compiled for the Mac installer fail. It this is the case, uninstall and use the _full package instead. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=384719&aid=1210439&group_id=25576 |
