Companions in Pathfinder don&#39;t need the ability to be manually leveled. They have set HD. Unlike 3.5e where you could level your animal a bit if it was tougher. Their progression is also fixed - You&#39;ll gain 16 levels of Companion through the 20 levels of the master. Plus the base 2? IIRC the companion begins play with.

The main issue though is leveling your companion manually should not be required, the program should be handling that automatically, and forcing it by manually adding a level is not a fix. It means you aren&#39;t getting any benefits from the increased level.</div>
