Larry Franz commented on DATA-205:
----------------------------------
Thanks guys, that solved my problem. Maybe this is more for the coding group, but it seems like it might be nice to get a warning if you try to equip a character with a weapon he can't use, like the warnings about setting attributes before you add levels. As another alternative, maybe weapons you can't use because of size should be put in red, like weapons you're not proficient with. It might not be a bad idea to put "weapon too big (or small)" or something in the character sheet where attack and damage would be so that it's more obvious to someone like me what's going on.

> Entered a 4th level gnome druid. I can equip with a quarterstaff, but whle the quarterstaff appears in the attack section on the character sheet it doesn't display melee attack or damage. In the troubleshooting, it has NA for the damage and NA for the attack, even though it correctly shows all the plusses. I retested with a 1st level gnome druid, went straight to equip without feats/skills, and got the same problem. I am adding the quarterstaff to the default equipment set.
> I'm guessing this is a size issue. I set the check in the preferences for sizing equipment for races. The suite of clothes show (small), so the sizing seems to be working. Since quarterstaffs are essentially sticks, it doesn't make sense that there would be any restritctions on using them. The quarterstaff is listed as doing 1d4 for small wielders, so I can't see any reason why this is happening.
