Category: Expand Existing Feature Group: For 5.12 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 7 Private: No Submitted By: LegacyKing (amaitland) Assigned to: Eddy Anthony (eddyanthony) Summary: Optional: PSI Crystals have HD & Feats Initial Comment: Re: [pcgen][PSIONICS][BUG] PCGen 5.11.13 (BETA) PSIONIC PSI CRYSTAL Optional Rule request: Due to designer and description differences, an option to allow Psi Crystals to have HD and gain the incumbent properties entailed in HD gain (Skill points? Feats, etc.) Tir and Bebberd were the originators of this discussion. Eddy Anthony added: I think this would be a good feature to add to the PCGen OGL set, a separate set which would .MOD the Psicrystals for this interpretation. Bebberd added: I would say this should be the default then, and the No-HD should be the .MOD. Psicrystals do get HD, as do Animal companions and Special Mounts, per the "Rules As Written". Using the "Rules As Intended" as the default over the "Rules As Written" when the Rules that exist have not been errataed in the over 3 years the source has been out to correct them to "the intention"... EDDY's Reply: Not quite, Animal companions and Special Mounts Bonus HD are explicitly detailed in the chart under the class feature, there is no similar mention of this in the Psion entry (or we would not be having this discussion). It's only when you look at the monster entry and apply the rules that this inconsistency become apparent. On a technical level it's a little more difficult to .MOD it off than to .MOD it on. We know the designers did not intend for them to have HD and whoever originally coded that section interpreted it that way as well. If both interpretation are available does it matter that much which is the default? --- TM: Andrew Maitland Discussions should be taken to Eddy Anthony, Tir & Bebberd. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Frank Kliewe (frank_kliewe) Date: 2007-05-03 00:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1241568 Originator: NO Eddy, do you plan to do this still for 5.12, or is this an 5.12/6.0 item? -- Frank ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Eddy Anthony (eddyanthony) Date: 2007-04-22 15:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=886893 Originator: NO Now testing a fix for this to go in the PCGen OGL set. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=750092&aid=1701801&group_id=25576 |
